CodeAntler is an Ontario software and web development company committed to protecting your privacy. We operate the website at codeantler.ca and provide digital consulting services.

Information we collect

We collect personal information you provide directly — for example, when you fill out a contact form, request a quote, or subscribe to our newsletter. This may include your name, company name, email address, phone number, budget range, industry, and project details.

We also collect certain information automatically when you visit our website: IP address, browser and device type, pages visited, and time on site. This is collected via server logs and Google Analytics cookies (see the Cookies section below).

How we use your information

We use the information we collect to:

• Respond to your enquiries and scope proposed work.
• Deliver the services you have engaged us for.
• Send you newsletters or announcements — only with your express consent (see Email Marketing & CASL below).
• Monitor and analyse website traffic to improve site performance (via Google Analytics).

We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information to third parties, and we do not use it for advertising profiling.

Third-party service providers

We rely on a small number of trusted third-party services to operate our business. Each processes data on our behalf under their own privacy and security commitments:

• Vercel — website hosting.
• Resend — email delivery for contact-form submissions to our inbox.
• Google Analytics — website traffic analysis. Note that usage data is transferred to Google servers in the United States under Google's privacy policy.

We may also disclose personal information where required by law, court order, or government authority, or with your explicit consent.

Cookies and tracking

Our website uses cookies to improve your experience and to understand how visitors use the site. We use first-party session cookies (required for the site to function) and third-party cookies set by Google Analytics to track aggregate usage data.

You can control or disable cookies through your browser settings. Disabling cookies may affect certain site features. Opting out of Google Analytics is also possible via Google's opt-out browser add-on.

Data retention

We keep your personal information only as long as needed for the purposes described above. Contact-form submissions are retained until the enquiry is resolved and for any additional period required by law or for legitimate business record-keeping. You may ask us to delete your data at any time by emailing our Privacy Officer.

Your privacy rights (PIPEDA)

Under Canada's federal private-sector privacy law (PIPEDA) you have the right to:

• Access — request a copy of the personal information we hold about you.
• Correction — ask us to correct inaccurate or incomplete information.
• Deletion — request that we delete your data (subject to legal retention obligations).
• Withdraw consent — opt out of any processing based on your consent at any time.

To exercise any of these rights, email mbari@codeantler.ca. We will respond within 30 days.

Email marketing & CASL

Canada's Anti-Spam Legislation (CASL) requires that we obtain your express consent before sending commercial electronic messages. If you subscribe to our newsletter or agree to receive updates, we will only send marketing emails with that consent.

Every marketing email we send will clearly identify CodeAntler, include our contact information, and contain a working unsubscribe link. You can opt out at any time by clicking "Unsubscribe" in any email or by replying with "unsubscribe" to any message we send.

Security

We protect your information using technical and organizational safeguards — including encrypted connections (HTTPS), restricted access controls, and reputable infrastructure providers. However, no internet system can guarantee absolute security, and we cannot warrant that data transmitted over the internet is entirely secure.

Children's privacy

Our website and services are intended for adults. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 13 years of age. If you believe we have inadvertently collected such information, please contact us and we will delete it promptly.

Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices or applicable law. When we do, we will revise the "Effective date" at the top of this page. Your continued use of the site after any changes constitutes your acceptance of the updated policy.

Privacy complaints

If you have a concern about how we handle your personal information, please contact our Privacy Officer first at mbari@codeantler.ca. If we are unable to resolve your concern, you have the right to file a complaint with the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada (OPC).
